1. Saas-Fee Glacier Terrain Park

Expert skiers looking for wild panoramic vistas with challenging thrills should try skiing at Saas-Fee Glacier Terrain Park. It encompasses the entire Saas Valley and offers plenty of challenges for expert skiers, including several off-piste routes accessible only with an expert guide. After heavy snowfalls, you will find official free-ride slopes with powder runs, which then develop into moguls since they do not get groomed.

2. Saas-Grund

Saas-Grund lies in the Saas-Fee and Saastal Holiday Region and features 34.5 km of slopes suitable for skiing and snowboarding. There are also about five kilometres of ski routes available and seven lifts transporting the guests. The area is at an elevation of 1,559 to 3,200 metres.

A gondola lift will take skiers to about 2,400 metres into the Kreuzboden, where you will find wide slopes. There are also areas for beginners, fun slopes, snow parks and restaurants. Kids can enjoy fun activities like exploring tepees. They can also play at the playground. Kreuzboden is the starting point for the hiking trail that descends into the town of Saas-Grund.

3. Saas-Almagell

Saas Almagell is a medium-sized ski resort with six lifts in its terrain, suitable for beginners and intermediate levels. It offers an impressive vertical descent of 848 metres. For those with chalet property in Saas-Fee, Saas Almagell is located nearby making it easy to access.

Saas Almagell has eight pistes about 12 km long and is best suited for immediate skiers and snowboarders. There are also terrains for advanced skiers if you’re looking for more challenges. Saas Almagell has 26 km of cross-country ski trails.

4. Allalin

Located above Saas-Fee, Allalin whisks you up to 3,000 metres into the Metro-Alpin station. Your journey then takes you into an underground funicular that travels ten metres per second towards Mittelallalin at an elevation of 3,500 metres, making it the highest year-round snow sports area in Saas-Fee.

Aside from the magnificent views of the tall mountain peaks surrounding Allalinhorn, the area is also home to the highest revolving restaurant in the world. In addition, the Mittelallalin Ice Pavilion, considered the world’s largest ice grotto, is located nearby.

5. Alphubel

If you’re an expert skier looking for some challenge in Saas-Fee, you should try your skills in Alphubel, one of the most challenging ski areas in the Saas valley. Yet, the challenge will be well worth it since you will be rewarded with an exciting fall line ski towards the village of Saas-Fee. The gorgeous Alphubel mountain lies between the valleys of Saas and Zermatt and is part of the Allalin Group of Mountains.
