Pros and Cons of the Atom Drop Through Longboard

The Atom drop-through longboard boasts impressive stability which ensures plenty of steadiness when pulling off amazing downhill boarding tricks. The board is easy to ride and can happily perform on long distance rides or simply when pulling off tricks around town. The Atom drop-through longboard deck features 9 1/2“ of turning leverage and isn’t your standard drop through design. The shape has a slight bottleneck which makes it easier to find your footing on the board without having to look down – a huge plus for anyone starting out! It’ll save you time too when pulling off tricks and slides.

The urethane wheels are strikingly shiny and provide sufficient grip and the bearings are of seriously high quality, as you’d expect.  The bottle neck design is a little stretched out at the back so it isn’t the most attractive (certainly there are better-looking shapes out there), but it makes up for it in the carving abilities it offers. You may find when the board arrives that the nuts on the axles are a little tight but these can be loosened to your liking. If you’re a beginner, you may find the board a little unsteady at first but you’ll soon get used to it and be carving it up before you know it!

The deck on the Atom drop-through longboard is also arched a little on the toe side which provides a little extra rebound. This board’s flex isn’t quite as much as you might require but if you’re just up for a little carving and some downhilling fun, it’s more than sufficient.

Extreme Sports Final Thoughts

Overall the Atom drop-through longboard is great, especially for the money at under $100.  That may be a little too much for some but most experienced longboard riders would advise investing in your board if you can. It’s obviously well-made and will serve you well whether you’re just getting started or if you’re a more seasoned pro. For riding, you’ll be hard pushed to find a better board for carving, especially once you loosen up the bushings a little.
